Sunday Club Fundraiser on August 15th

We had a fabulous fundraiser dance today to build up our club reserve funds!

Our expenses were eliminated for this dance thanks to our DJ Gary and the hall manager, Linda: All of our $886.00 intake from dancers’ entrance fees and raffle proceeds will be banked!

Thank you, Gary. Thank you, Linda. And… thank you from the Cactus Corners Board to each and every dancer who came to Danville from far or near to support the club by bringing such palpable positive energy, dancing stamina, and in some cases, delicious refreshments.

We plan to have many more dances in the future. So, with all of your help we move confidently forward with renewed spirit.

A Sunday Dance in June (cancelled - sorry!)

The first Sunday in June - June 6th is the day to head on over to the Grange Hall in Danville. The dance starts at 1:00 PM and lasts until 4:00 PM with Gary calling the dances you love to dance. We’re having this dance instead of the first Friday dance this month. Once in a while we’ll have a Sunday dance for your dancing enjoyment!

What a success it was!

The Cactus Corners Fundraiser Dance with Pizza held on Saturday, April 17th was an outstanding success on many levels. Because we had 70 attendees for the cause, the evening netted $1000.00 for:

“Dancers for the Cure”
The American Cancer Society
“Relay for Life of Livermore”

All the attendees’ entry fees went toward the cause. Some attendees contributed additional funds above and beyond their entry fees, particularly Bob and Joyce Graham who donated over $200.00. Our landlord, Linda Tullis, donated half of the Club’s rent obligation for the night to the cause.

We were able to considerably reduce the Club expenses. Our DJ for the dance, Gary Clayton and Janet worked without payment. The other 6 members of the Cactus Corners Board: the Harrisons, the Hartjes, and the Wisners personally paid for the pizza and drinks.

Other dancers brought desserts to keep everyone happy.
